Another Hello from Southern California! Looking for a warm and friendly place to share life experiences, obtain maturing information (retirement, medicare and such) and a little company from time to time. I'm hoping this forum will be what I'm looking for. Of course, time will tell.


I'm into computing (PC, Mac, Linux), music (Oldies but Goodies, Country and Elvis), movie and TV watching, and naps. Since retiring, I've really grown fond of naps :cool:.


Anyway, that's a brief intro to 'me.' Now on to getting to know all of you :).

Don, welcome to the forum. Linux rocks! I work down your way, in Norco. I'm going back into retirement next month. Happy summer!

Welcome, McFan, also lived in southern cal (high desert) for 7 years, loved it! This is a great forum, just suggest you avoid the politics section, some very hateful, angry folks hang out there. :cheers1:
 
Thanks, tnthomas! Once I retired, I remained that way, I would be taken back into the workforce kicking and screaming every step of the way. So, I'm thinking I'll just stay retired :).

Thanks, hauntedtexan, funny you should mention the politics section, it was just such an experience that prompted me to find this forum. I know this is probably a given but there are some pretty hateful and angry people in real life these days as well :(.

And I do agree, there are a lot of angry people..I notice even in my own community..My daughter and I comment on it all the time. I still smile though. :)
 
Welcome, Don from SoCal. I'm new here too but so far enjoy the site. Plenty of interesting people for socializing and interesting topics to discuss. A welcoming and friendly group and site is very user-friendly. I have spent some time in your area. Especially enjoy the area around Borrego Springs. Wish I could have seen the 'desert bloom' this year.
 
Thank you, Helenbacque, so far my experience here, though limited, matches yours. I've found it friendly, and lots of social interactions to enjoy. I'm also impressed with what appears to be a treasure trove of useful information on various topics shared by all :). Think I'll stick around a while :cool:.
