Another not so swift email scam.

I got an email supposedly from the US Postal Service saying they have my package, but they can't read the address. All I have to do is go to their site and type in some info.
#1. I don't have any packages I'm waiting for.
#2. The URL for email is .stvs, not .gov.
#3. How does the US Post Office know my email address?
I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but after decades of scam emails, this one's got red flags all over it.

I was expecting my new iPad from United with all of the routes and flight plans loaded into it. I received a phone call from a man saying he was with USPS and stating that I had to mail $50 to a PO Box number and they would release a package they were holding for me. I assumed it was my iPad.

I almost followed the instructions, but decided to tell our local cop about the phone call and he said don’t do anything and if the iPad didn’t show up in a week call United and make sure it was mailed. A few days later, my iPad was delivered by FedEx. I was lucky. I saved $50.00.
