Cheryl, the young lady who makes these foods and recipes
on video, must be somehow related, she makes lots of my
Granny's recipes!

This one is for "Scottish Macaroon Bars", these are surprisingly
made using mashed potatoes.

That was fun to watch! The accent, the Scottish Macaroon Bars and some of the pretty landscape in Scotland.
Mike, do you have a Scottish accent or an English accent...or a mix?

Thanks, Mike!

We have a similar recipe for potato fondant Easter eggs that are coated with chocolate.

Also, an Irish potato candy that used to be popular around St. Patrick's Day.

The simplest of them is a pinwheel potato candy with peanut butter that supposedly originated during the Great Depression.

It wouldn't surprise me if they all had their origin in Scotland or Ireland with thrifty mothers making do with what was available to them.

I know Cheryl well...but what the heck is she doing using mashed potato in Macaroons.. ? *ugh*...
Because that is how they are made hollydolly, I lived in Coatbridge
for a couple of years and was friendly with two girls who worked in
the "Lees" factory where they are made, they told me the recipe, but
I already knew, because of my Granny.

Well Lara I too am a bit confused about my accent, when
I visited Scotland, the people that I knew called me the
Big Englishman, but here I have a strong Scottish accent,
some people cannot even understand what I am saying,
yet I think that I have tempered it so that others understand.

Last week the landlords sent in a young lady to inspect part
of the premises, she is married to a Scot and her father-in-
law lives in a town where I did, yet she said that I had a strong
accent.

I was told that it takes a strong character to keep his own accent.

Mike.

I like both the English and Scottish accents. It's interesting that your homeland views you as English and England views you as Scottish. How old were you when you left Scotland?
