Just talked to our son and gosh he sounds awful. So breathy and that cough!!! đŸ˜«. He said he felt pretty good yesterday and this morning. Better than he has since this started, but the fever came back this afternoon and he is sliding downhill again. He talked to the doctor on Saturday who feels they are following the right course of treatment with antibiotics +other meds and the only other thing they can try is to hospitalize for an infusion. I feel do damn helpless and just want him to get better. From my lips to God’s ear 🙏

An infusion of the medications, I presume?

Kathleen, how old is your son & did he have any underlying conditions? I get really upset by people who say it won’t be bad if you’re young.

We will all pray for him, goes without saying, but still nice to hear I think. It was the same when my son had it, and his friend has it now and is walking the same stay home or go into hospital choice. He is staying home.

I think there is a fear now of hospital treatment-so many deaths in hospital and that might be why he does not want to go. I have no advice, I hope he gets better soon. Keep us updated on his condition. I’ll toss in a pray for you as well, take care of yourself. 😍

He is 53 and no real underlying conditions. As a child he was always prone to bronchitis and pneumonia, but seemed to grow out of that
This is 1 of the things that worries me so much about COVID; my Huzz (who *still* won't really take COVID seriously enough) has had pneumonia twice, once as a kid and once as an adult; he breathed 2nd-hand smoke from the moment of his conception, his mom was a heavy smoker who started smoking at 14 yrs and didn't quit 'till a year before she died; I really worry about this. But I'm sending you my best wishes, hopes, and thoughts, Kathleens; hang in there, hugs.

same here...both parents smoked a pack a day indoors.. I got pneumonia twice same as your husband, once as a child and was hospitalised, and once as a young mother during the winter and snows of '78 , and was bed-ridden for 3 weeks at home with the doc coming in every day....

I now have asthma which is manageable.. and I take C-19 very seriously indeed...

@Kathleen’s Place ... I can hear the panic in your voice as I read your words, along with others we can only hope that the thoughts and prayers of everyone towards your son, will somehow help to heal him ...
And I am leaning on that Holly....so very very much. I am usually a pretty calm, take it as it comes, person...until it comes to my kids or grandkids. And then I do panic. It’s the total helplessness. The “I can’t kiss it and make it all better” frustration.

Thank you officer. I am, it’s just hard. And you are right to worry about your husband. I always took it seriously and have done everything possible to be compliant. But my son and his family were one of the, I thought, overboard almost paranoid about it people. As they should be as my oldest grandaughter is severely asthmatic. I just honestly can’t fathom how they all got it. I’m relieved that our granddaughter has remained asystematic and that it hasn’t gone to her lungs. But she is quarantined in there with them (senior in college, going to school on line now and moved back in with them when this whole thing started as an extra precaution)

I am hoping that your son will have a quick recovery with no complications along the way. I have a son also and can't imagine what you are going through right now. My thoughts are with you and please take care of yourself. It will help him knowing that you are ok.
