Video published 5/25/22 so fairly recent find. I don't quite get why archaeologists surprised considering the other highly organized ancient cultures in S. America. But here is the video.
I became fascinated with archaeology in my pre and early teen yrs and still am.

The discovery of lost civilizations creates mixed feelings in me. There is an overwhelming feeling of loss, of the futility of life. Yet, I love the adventure of uncovering the past and theorizing about the lives that once occupied a place and time.

It's the feeling I get when visiting cemeteries. Who was this person? What personal triumphs and tragedies befell them in their lifetime? What was their world like?

Thanks for posting, Feywon.

The Americas have a long history of civilizations that grew and flourished, then disappeared. When one collapses, it becomes reborn in another area, with that area's culture. I love this stuff. I keep thinking that 25,000 years ago, some guy woke up, and it was "today".
