I get them fairly frequently here, but most are small, and I don't give them much attention, but today's shook the whole house pretty good (It was a 4.2).
Those are the kind that will get your attention. Thankfully nothing was damaged.

W😲W! I'm glad to know you're okay and nothing was damaged.

Yes, but it has nothing to do with earthquakes! 😊

Well, whatever you're shaking, as incredible as it may seem, I felt it here.
Maybe it's that "Butterfly Effect" I've heard about.

No, thank goodness, that's one thing we don't get here in Florida. Hurricanes, tornados, mosquitos, lovebugs, Godzilla-size palmetto bugs, and wildfires are quite enough.
Well, at least with hurricanes and wildfires, you know they're coming. With earthquakes, you get no warning. You just hold on.

Nope. I'm just happy I live in the habitable zone that doesn't require ongoing terraforming and isn't an insurance nightmare.
Oddly enough, I don't think many have earthquake insurance where I live. We get frequent quakes, and the thinking is that major stress won't build up in that case, and so far, it seems to be working. In areas where they go for longer intervals, the seismologists are constantly sounding warnings of impending release of that energy. I'll pay the price of the smaller ones, as long as I don't experience the ones that split my home in half, although it would be nice to live in an area where they are nonexistent.

Whenever we feel shakes from the quakes it completely freaks me out. Yet I continue to live on this beautiful island and live in fear of the big one. Just recently the seismologists discovered a new fault here on the south island, they were very excited, me, not so much.

Haven't felt much shaking around here lately. We'll get little tremors from up around the Bay area or closer, but nothing major.

The last big one was in Coalinga that we felt. Had the chandeliers swaying and the earth rumbling. I was looking for a door way to stand under.

Haven’t lived in an earthquake-prone zone for many years.

Growing up in CA, biggest I experienced was 6.2; I was in junior high. I think it was in February. I may be wrong. Anyway, not a very pleasant way to get woke up in the early AM!
