I need to have my house copper re-piped. All my plumbing is accessible in the basement - no digging. 3 floors. 3 bathroom faucets, 3 toilets, 2 showers, 1 kitchen faucet, 1 washer, 1 outside hose. I'm thinking around $10,000 - $15,000 including labor. Am I close?

As Ken says why?

If your pipes are being clogged by limescale, all you
need to do is get them de-scaled, I can tell you how
to do it, but there should be somebody in your area
who does it, It will take about half a day, depending
on how badly clogged the pipes are.

If you want to do it yourself, let me know and I will
tell you how to.

Mike.

My house was built in 1953. The plumbing was galvanized steel back then. It's completely corroded & some pipes have already burst, causing water damage. I discussed cheaper PEX piping, but I learned that rats will chew it & all my plumbing is in the basement & occasionally, rats get into it; the plumber showed me rat droppings & he suggested not doing it that way & having constant leak repairs. Also, a rat already chewed the wiring that powers my furnace & it stopped working. I had to have it re-wired & protected with rat-proof covering.

I didn't think this was addressed to me but I checked anyway!

. I am a retired armourer from the RAF and they have been known as plumbers since the days of the RFC!
