Anybody else think it's weird for a computer

The term robot refers to a computer program that tries multiple times to guess a password by trying different letter/number combinations until it guesses the right one.

The problem with robots is they tie up the websites indefinitely so by using a software that asks people to make certain mouse movements and clicks that robot programs cannot similate, the robotic password guessing program gets turned away.

They could have asked you "Are you human?" And I think newer versions of the website defending software do ask it that way.

I get squares with pictures in them that vary. I have to click every square that has a motorcycle in it, or some other object, then click verify before I can proceed. Sometimes after hitting verify, I get more squares with pictures, and that can go on and on, repeating itself.

I have found that once I've verified the first picture, if I get another one, I can ignore it and go to the address bar and type in what I'm searching for, and I will be taken to it, thereby bypassing the continuing display of pictures with squares.

Ya know, I never thought of it like that but yeah...it's damned weird! Know what else was weird...totally unrelated though. I had to wait on line (like the equivalent of standing on line) when I went to the Shoprite website once. I thought that was the craziest thing. I don't do Instacart...all I wanted to do was check their sales circular.

@OneEyedDiva ... did they let you in with a nightgown and slipper on ?!?!?!

Just got a notice, Microsoft will quit storing passwords on its App.
It appears this is where they are getting stolen from. Then there is
Amazing. It warns not to pay any attention to a notice that Prime will end
If you don't pay the huge new re-enrollment fee. ... :coffee: ...

I'm currently washing Nash Bridges. He has a list of license plates, illegally parked
cars in a parking lot and is looking for the missing one. Yep, even an LEO is not a Bott!

Beat me . . .
At first glance, "A human can reason out the problems," but all the letters aren't there. Fortunately, I haven't had to do those kinds. :D

That may prove, humans can reason out the problems. (43) ( -'s not necessary ) hyphen

We know we are not Botts!

I never wear nightgowns anymore. Now wait a minute...don't let your mind go there! I wear comfortable, loose fitting, long dresses or skirts and tops (sans underwear, except for a slip). I started doing this in case there's an emergency, I won't be running out with a nightgown on. I have comfortable shoes and sneakers right by the door, so I'd change from my slippers.

I have had a Facebook account for the past 10 years, and the same password. Now when I try to use it, I get this message, "You Have Been Temporarily Blocked," "Looks like you were misusing it by going too fast". I tried changing my password, no, it doesn't' work. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

@oscash ... found this while looking around on the interwebs ...

Yes, many users have encountered this exact issue on Facebook — the "You Have Been Temporarily Blocked" message, often accompanied by "Looks like you were misusing it by going too fast." It's usually triggered when Facebook detects what it thinks is suspicious or automated activity on your account. This can happen even if you're just using the account normally.

Common Reasons for the Block:

  • Too many actions too quickly (liking, posting, messaging, or adding friends rapidly)
  • Using automation tools or browser extensions
  • Logging in from multiple locations/devices in a short time
  • Facebook glitch or false positive

What You Can Do:

  1. Wait it out: Temporary blocks usually last a few hours to a few days (sometimes up to 72 hours). Just don't try to log in repeatedly or take more actions — that could extend the block.
  2. Avoid changing your password multiple times: You've already changed your password — that’s good in case Facebook thought your account was compromised. But doing it repeatedly won’t help with this particular issue.
  3. Appeal the block (if the option appears):
    • Look for a “Let us know” or “Disagree with decision” link on the block message.
    • If available, follow the steps and explain that you weren’t misusing the account.
  4. Clear browser/app cache or try another device:
    • If you were using Facebook on a browser, try clearing cookies and cache, or use a different browser.
    • If on the app, try logging in from a desktop or vice versa.
  5. Check for compromised access:
    • Go to Log into Facebook when you're able to log in again.
    • Review Where You're Logged In and remove any unfamiliar devices.

Have Others Had This Happen?

Yes — this is a fairly common issue, especially among long-time users or those who suddenly become more active. The Facebook Help Community has many similar reports.

The source I found this info at said ... If you’re still blocked after 3 days or so, let me know — we can look into options like filling out Facebook’s general support/contact forms or trying other recovery routes.

@oscash if you want to see the result for yourself, here is a link where I found the information.
At the link, a popup may ask for a login ... click the bottom of the popup where it says "stay logged out"
Then just copy and paste what you posted in the "ask anything" box and hit enter ... Try it ...
