I had to listen to Trump... just for the incredulousness of it.. He never once proposed a single bit of policy.. He talked mostly about himself... about how good he was doing in the polls... cut down his opponents..... Said, "America is bad now, but he will make it wonderful"... (never said how)... and that when he is president.... we will have so many victories our heads will spin.. It was pure entertainment and fluff.... but it drives his followers into rhapsody.. He DID however say that he would tax goods manufactured in foreign countries by American companies 35% and they would call him and tell him they were moving back to the US by 5pm that day..
A big contrast was Sanders speech at Liberty University... heavy on content and absolutely riveting.. He was able to draw cheers and applause from that crowd ... and that in itself was amazing.. Don't know if he won any of them over, but at least he was able to find common ground. Most revolving around income inequality and the need to tax the wealthy.
It seems to me that the Populace movement is finally taking hold. Trump and Sanders have VAST differences, but they DO have on common theme.. We are living in a time when a very, very, small percentage of people hold more wealth than 99%. It's unjust... and it's destroying our country. People on both sides of the political spectrum are waking up to that.. Trump and Sanders are in agreement with that, but have very different ideological approaches.
So where does this leave our so called "main stream" candidates?? Don't know.. But it's going to be a VERY interesting election cycle.. buckle up!
