Burns Night is annually celebrated in Scotland on or around January 25. It commemorates the life of the bard Robert Burns, who was born on January 25, 1759. The day also celebrates Burns' contribution to Scottish culture. His best known work is Auld Lang Syne, although Burns himself did not compose it, but is responsible for publishing the traditional ballad.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne?

Chorus:
For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll tak’ a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

Second verse:
And surely ye’ll be your pint-stoup!
and surely I’ll be mine!
And we’ll tak’ a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

Chorus

Third verse:

We twa hae run about the braes,
and pou’d the gowans fine;
But we’ve wander’d mony a weary fit,
sin’ auld lang syne.

Chorus

Fourth verse:

We twa hae paidl’d in the burn,
frae morning sun till dine;
But seas between us braid hae roar’d
sin’ auld lang syne.

Chorus

Fifth verse:

And there’s a hand,
my trusty fiere!
and gie’s a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll tak’ a right gude-willie waught,
for auld lang syne.

Note, nowhere does it contain 'for the sake of' This is a modern corruption.

A local establishment did... at $300 a pop, we decided to not attend.
Plus the men all were to be dressed accordingly, which added to the expense. They recommended ordering the kilts here: https://www.usakilts.com/
They were more lenient with the ladies attire.

Glen Scotia Victoriana Single Malt Scotch
Loch Lomond 12-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch
Benriach The Twelve Speyside Single Malt Scotch
were all served
