Anyone ever buy from sunsetparadis or similar?

I was looking at a belt sander, a DeWalt model that sells for around $300 on Amazon and other well know retailers.

However I found one for $59 at https://www.sunsetparadis.com/produ...LSS4HOZLObbUY_u3cwMhxG83QjKhH4DRoCa5sQAvD_BwE

Got this through a Google search, I've seen this before and not always with the same seller. I'd sure like to get one for that price, but am a bit nervous. Anyone ever buy from them or similar deeply discounted but unknown sellers?

No but I always abide by this age old saying; "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."

The price you noted is not just a good deal; it's almost unbelievable. Never heard of this outfit myself. Good luck. The price makes it a very compelling offer though so I can see your dilemma

You have to ask yourself, is the aggravation and lost funds worth the risk of 'thinking' you are saving money?
1) You may never see the product and you basically have no recourse except contest the charge with your credit card company.
2) which leads to another/bigger problem. Your credit card information is now with some shady 'company' that may not even be a company.
I would go with the reputable vendor, especially if I had to deal with the downside.

If you are looking at Lowes and you are a vet, you get 10% discount. If you are looking on amazon, then you can get 5% off for opening an Amazon charge card. There are ways to come off that 300$ price tag.
For that money you are looking at a cordless belt sander?

Just as I thought:

That one is made in Mexico. My son has bought some DeWalt power tools from that manufacturer and says they're as good as and some better than made in USA.

I think you're safe.

Well, isn't Dewalt the most expensive? You're paying for the name. Any brand will do the job, IMO.
Some brands are substandard. Harbor Freight immediately comes to mind....pieces of junk, imo.

Power tools are expected to last longer than one or two uses. You expect sturdy nuts and bolts, metal parts instead of plastic ones, sharp blades that keep their edge for a while, replacement guarantees, and good customer service. Not all manufacturers give you that.

You are right. I stand corrected.

Thanks @Murrmurr I will chance it, the price is too low not to give it a try.
Seems to be a scam page and the reasons are given.
Thanks Kate, unfortunately I had already placed the order when I read this. Will let y'all know how it turns out.

Some truth to that, but I already have a bunch of DeWalt tools with a bunch of batteries that mostly fit DeWalt, so I am kind of stuck.
Rigid has a lifetime guarantee on batteries. They have free replacement batteries.
Didn't know that, thanks.

I have limited use for a belt sander. I use one to round off the corners on laminated counter tops that I make, and the cheapest one I can find is the way I go on a belt sander. On rare occasions I'll have use for a belt sander, but I don't have big jobs that require a good one.

Well after reading all of your responses I canceled the order with my credit card company. I also did some internet research and this does look like a fraudulent website and deal.

Thanks to all!
Smart move. You really get what you pay for.
Dewalt is an excellent brand but very expensive. Rigid has one that’s reasonably priced

If it's a fraudulent website and deal, I'd suggest getting a new credit card from your credit card company ... since the crooks already have yours. That may have been the intention all along — to get credit card info.

Where there's a problem, our credit card companies are happy to issue new cards with new numbers.

Thanks, I talked with the credit card company about this and they will be closely tracking charges. If another problem appears I will get a new card.

Well it happened, just got the call. Credit card is being canceled and replaced... What a PIA!

I usually do too, should have this time.
