Anyone have a prostate biopsy?

I just saw the hernia posting so I thought I'd ask about prostrate biopsy. I have a feeling it's going to be more than unpleasant.

I've had it twice. The first time it was like someone stuck a BB gun up my butt and pulled the trigger. And, they took like 16 samples. The second time it didn't seem as bad and they took 5. That one found the cancer. A friend of my Sons recently had it done and he said it wasn't bad at all, so maybe they have made improvements.

dont fret sounds worse than it is --hubby had it done and hes one big coward ' more embarrassing lol ..
little prodding all he felt .. they found a few polyps nothing to concern him ….

I've had it. Not bad, but the effort to find out what's needed is important. I've also had 3 operations on my prostate.

So far, so good. (I understand the mispronouncing - once in church I got it wrong when they were singing a song about " ... "let angels prostrate sing....", I realized I had said " let angels prostate sing..." I was embarrassed and hoped no one heard me.

I'm not religious, but I think I can get some 'mileage' out of that at the doc's office. I'll have to learn the "All Hail the Power of Jesus" hymn...

That is a pretty good description of the first one I had that took 16 samples and didn't find anything. A year later I had one done by a different Doctor who took 34 samples and found that I did indeed have cancer. The second Doctor did put me out during this procedure and I am so grateful.
The aftermath of this procedure was rather rough and I did have to wear a caterer for eight days which was most undignified.
On the other hand, I am alive!

I have had it retiredtraveller and I didn't think it was
nice, the man doing the job slipped causing some
inner damage.

I believe that they have changed the "sampling" method
over here as there were a lot of "slips" in the past.

Mike.

All done. Very unpleasant for a solid minute. No issues with the 'aftermath'. Won't have results for a week. End of story.
