I keep thinking about getting one since this area is turning more and more into a desert and the portable ones seem to be a lot of trouble to clean, etc. Any info./advice appreciated, thanks.
That's what we had in our house .. but, had to rinse the filters more often than once a year.I live in Wisconsin and have one on my furnace. It gets really dry in the house in the winter. The whole house humidifier, turned up as high as it goes, keeps the humidity at about 42. I change the filter myself every year. You need a water line and a drain near the unit.
