Maria Morera was born in San Francisco on March 4, 1907, then moved to the Catalonia region of Spain with her family when she was 8, staying there for the rest of her life.

I had access to this through Apple News but when I looked for this direct link to the source I hit a pay wall. For those who can access it, I wonder what you think of the article but for anyone, who else wants to live so long? Here is an excerpt from the article's conclusion:

Still, he’s hopeful that studies such as this one and the ongoing Longevity Genes Project will lead to new insights into aging and potential lessons about the healthiest lifestyle choices for longevity, as well as possible drugs or other interventions that might help people age better.

As for Esteller, the main message he and his colleagues gleaned from studying Morera was that “aging and illness are separable,” he said. She grew old. She did not grow seriously ill. Perhaps she would have, eventually, he said. But something inside of her pushed that eventuality further and further out, until, on Aug. 19, 2024, aged 117 and still mentally and physically well, she peacefully died in her sleep.

For me it would depend on my health/vitality, comfort and interest. So far, so good. But this ride will definitely end eventually, at least in our present form.

As long as I’m able to pull my own wagon and paddle my own canoe. 😉🤭😂

A patient asks his doctor: "Will I be able to live beyond a 100? The doctor replies: "Well, that depends. Do you drink?"
"Oh, no sir! I abstain from all alcohol. Soda, too. I just drink plenty of fresh water." "Do you smoke?"
"No, sir! Never smoked in my life, and I stay away from any place with second hand smoke."

"Do you eat a lot of sugary and greasy foods?" "No, sir! I carefully watch my diet and caloric intake, and I'm sure to eat plenty of vegetables." "Do you go to parties? Stay up late? Are you sexually promiscuous?""Not at all! Early to bed and early to rise! And abstinence is key."
The doctor raises an eyebrow at his patient. "So... Why exactly do you want to live to beyond a hundred?"

I never considered living to 110 as a goal, but I do have several friends that have made it into their 90s in good health. I would like to do that.
