We don't make a big fuss over holidays, just the two of us, but today my husband is making some St. Louis ribs on the charcoal BBQ, along with some oven grilled brussels sprouts. We'll share a big can of Foster's ale to complete the meal.

Anybody here making anything special for this weekend?

Great minds think alike, I'm going to pick up some fried chicken and a saucer of potato salad from the deli.

I will round it out with a cucumber salad and a slice of ice cold watermelon.

We're also going to fire up the barbie on the 4th.

We went to Wally World this morning and picked up pork ribs and some chicken leg & thigh quarters and then noticing in the paper earlier this week that Home Depot had Kingsford charcoal on sale for 1/2 price (two 18.6 lb. bags for $9.88) I picked up a two pack.

To go along with the ribs and chicken mama is going to make me some of her absolutely mouth watering delicious deviled eggs (sometimes I think the only reason I married that woman is for her deviled eggs :)) and I'll also throw some water soaked and unhusked corn on the cob on the grill along with some lightly seasoned asparagus wrapped in foil.

I gotta quit talking about it, I'm salivating all over the keyboard. :)

What time should I fly in for it, IKE? Papa Johns here along with a little crown and coke. Happy 4th y'all!

Be here by noon Terry and we'll make sure that you're well fed......oh, don't forget to bring that jug of Crown Royal with you. :)
