England.
It's where my ancestors came from (well, most of them).
I love British films, and was a big EastEnders fan.
Their accent is fascinating to listen to.
There is a lot of history to see there.
I'd love to walk along the Thames River & see Big Ben.
I'd have to go into a pub. I'm not really a beer drinker, but I'd make an exception to try a pint of theirs.
Maybe I'd get to see a Queen before my return home to the States.
 
England would be nice...but I think I would have to choose some kind of tropical locale. Bora Bora or Maya Beach in Thailand for example.
 
Lois, London is London and not at all representative of England which is a highly diverse country, but you have to start somewhere.
Eastenders - yes, well.. that's about as typical of Britain as Disney is of America, but it doesn't stop Brits going to Florida!
And as for beers, there are thousands of them, and I've sampled quite a few!

Still, I'm going to be just as bad and say that if I had the chance , I'd go to Nevada and visit an old friend who lives there.
 
Actually, I wouldn't mind going to Scotland. That place has always fascinated me.

Nah. I gotta have some tropics where snorkeling is awesome. :playful:
 
Lois, just to add - the clock tower that we call 'Big Ben' is the 'Elizabeth Tower' which is the clock tower of the Palace of Westminster. Big Ben, as you probably know, is the largest of the clock bells. It was cast in 1858 and weighs 13 1/2 tons. There is some debate as to whom the bell was named after.

Apparently you can get free tours of Big Ben, but only if you're a UK citizen.

Kaya, Scotland isn't the place to go snorkelling, but it is the place to go climbing. here's a pic of Suilven which is one of the most distinctive mountains in west Scotland.

People from Birmingham (or Brum) are called "Brummies" and my neighbour across the street is one. They speak with a very distinctive accent which caused another neighbour to ask me if he was a 'foreigner'. This was ironic because this particular woman speaks in the local 'Doric' dialect - and if you can understand that, you're doing well.
 
Surprise no one mentioned Africa,I would love to visit the Serengeti National Park.

Have visited Monument Valley in Utah/AZ several times and will go back there again soon.

When you get back, I want to hear all about your week in Nevada. LOL
 
I don't like flying but since we're talking hypothetically I'll go for a trip through the Rockies in Canada. I love mountains. Or perhaps Vermont in the autumn because I love autumn colours.
 
If you want to see England Miss out the American tourist traps.

London, Windsor, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Swansea.
 
Ireland...and the rest of the Britain... even before I knew I was adopted I used to dream about Ireland and the sea...this was before I saw any pictures of these places (we are talking 5 to 8 years old) ... Then finally found out I was mostly Irish, some English (plus two Native American tribes: Cherokee and Osage) ...
 
I would wait until Winter and go somewhere in the Southern Hemisphere where there is warm water for swimming and lots of sun. I would relax, take walks, eat local fish and just relax with a good book.
