Apps without the internet?

Do you use apps on your phone when you are offline, no internet?
I have only weather, email, photos. A basic LG Trakfone (Rebel)
No entertainment or games, or music, at all. Not news either.
Looking for casual interesting reading from reliable sites.

I'm not sure but I believe most of my apps require either wifi or a hot spot connection. I have seen a couple of apps advertised as not needing an internet connection when I'm playing Words With Friends.

I don't have a cell phone, so no apps, but they wouldn't be my thing anyway. I would and at one time I did have a cell phone to be used for emergencies. I really don't have any advice to give. I live in the good old days when I would just throw a book in my purse to keep entertained if I needed.
