Having a hard time hooking up my hoses. Are hose threads or outdoor faucet threading clockwise or counter clockwise? Sorry, I have no one to ask.
There is SOMETHING that's counter to this, Electrical maybe? hose threads, pipe threads, conduit adapters? I KNOW most are to the right but what is it that's reverse? Probably some plumbing fitting because I remember doing a lot of cussing under the sink!
There are left hand and right hand threads. The standard is right hand threads. Left handed threads are used in specialized applications. For example, vehicle wheels and circular saw blades.
I see you got it fitted so I deleted my post.Having a hard time hooking up my hoses. Are hose threads or outdoor faucet threading clockwise or counter clockwise? Sorry, I have no one to ask.
The reason for that is to prevent hooking up the wrong hose to the wrong bottle. The propane tank on my barbecue has left hand threads.
And if I remember right, on oxygen acetylene welding tanks.
Acetylene tanks have left hand threads.
Oxygen tanks have right hand threads.

The handle of a conventional faucet or valve is turned counterclockwise to open it. By moving the handle in the opposite (clockwise) direction, the faucet or valve is closed. Given that the thread on the valve stem is a right-hand thread, this rotation is known as "right hand" construction.Having a hard time hooking up my hoses.
