Are there any breast cancer survivors here?

Hi all. I'm behdune & am brand new to your forum. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May of last year. There was a tumor in my left breast. I had chemo June, July & August. Surgery was in Sept...a radical mastectomy & I had radiation treatments in Dec. & Jan. A mammogram in early June of this year was normal & my blood tests have been good since all the treatments & surgery.
I was told after surgery to never allow anyone to use a blood pressure monitor on my left arm and no blood draws from that arm. It made me wonder what a woman would do for testing if she'd had a double mastectomy?

How is your wife doing, Pappy? Did she have any problems after surgery? Luckily, I haven't.

Always good to hear of cancer survivors, I lost some close relatives to the disease. I heard that those who've had double mastectomies use a leg cuff to measure their blood pressure.

Leg cuffs make sense. Wife is doing well, thank you. The doctor said that after 5 years, she is over that cancer.
She had thyroid cancer back 20-25 years ago. Thyroid was removed and no after effects from that either.

She was very sick during chemo and of course lost all her hair. Doing good now.:sentimental:

Thanks SeaBreeze. I wonder about blood draws, though. I'm not knowledgeable enough with medical procedures to know how these tests are done.
