Are there any Poets among us? Looking to have my first book of Poetry published

I am learning about great poets in my Poetry Class.. Robert Frost is one of them as well as Ezra Pound, W.B. Years T.S. Eliot to name a few.
One of my Electives in College was.. Introduction to Poetry...co-authored by Robert Penn Warren. Very informative.

Do you like Emily Dickinson? I have toured her home in Amherst, MA. Robert Frost and Eugene Field also lived in Amherst at one time. Robert Frost library in Amherst has Manuscripts by him and Emily.

I will be teaching Emily Dickinson in my American Lit course in the fall. I love her poetry.

I recommend The life of Emily Dickinson by Richard B. Sewall, a work that took 20 years in the making!

Are you familiar with the lawsuit between Lavinia and Mabel Loomis Todd? Austin's affair with her led him to willing her a tract of land. Lavinia filed suit.

Oh yes, knew that already, but thanks. Harvard University's Houghton library has an Emily Dickinson room I visited. They had the family Piano, a Watch that was Emily's, and the Bureau Lavinia found her poems in. Harvard owns 1/2 of her extant manuscripts, and Amherst College owns the other 1/2, with some scattered in private hands, I have seen some and even held one in my hands, chills! The Jones library on Amity st. also has an ED room with manuscripts and several editions of her 1st published book. Brown and Company said they would publish it if the family paid for the Plates.

During the lawsuit MLT still had some of Emily's manuscripts in her possession. Her and Thomas Wentworth Higginson edited her book of poems. Thankfully she was not vindictive and did not destroy them, they were given back.

Family gravesite, West Cemetry. I have pictures I took when I visted. At one time when she lived on North Pleasant st., her window overlooked West Cemetery, this is why she wrote poems masterfully from the perspective of the dead, like... I died for beauty.., though she never actually titled her poems, the editors did that.

I also have the ED video from Voices and Visions, excellent! Commentary by Joyce Carol Oats and Anthony Hecht and Adrienne Rich. You can watch it here.

I loved to write poems and wrote a book. Self published it, and sold about 2-3 copies which were brought by friends of mine. Then I saw a website on song lyrics. I though my poetry, with a little tweaking could be lyrics. A ten song album of my lyrics will be published later this year by a publisher who loved them. Won't cost me cent and I can hardly wait to see if the Album sells more than 2-3 copies.

Best of luck to all poetry writers.
Wow...that is awesome! My desire is to turn a few of my poems into lyrics. However, first things first - my book

Poems have been set to music before. A good example is H.W. Longfellow's... Christmas Bells... I heard the bells on Christmas day...
