Are there any regional sections of the forum for people in the same country, state and region?

The whole "cool factor," for me, is that the folks on this forum are from all over the world! Why the hell would I want to dialogue with only people from Texas/Oklahoma/Louisiana etc.?

I agree..The one thing I love about this site is the diversity..We are all over the place.

Love hearing and seeing how everyone else gets by... in their own little piece of the world.

You guys got me thinking: Do we have any folks, in here, who are in Asian countries? I know there may be language barriers, for some, but English is spoken in so many countries, that I would think some seniors in Asia might want to post, in here. I know there may be blocks on certain feeds, and maybe SF gets blocked, in some countries. I'm curious, though.

Me too...It is the www right??

What about some exotic islands???

While the internet does have some great advantages, some of us prefer to do more physical activities with people in real life, rather than spend more time socializing with strangers on the internet...So a state section is a great feature for connecting with like minded people near you.

I take issue with your post, for a few reasons:

First, many, in here, have written, in other threads, that they're not comfortable getting together, anymore, in face to face meetings. I respect their feelings.

Second, we're not all strangers to each other, in here. Many of us chat via PM's, and I, personally, feel like I know, pretty well, about ten people, in here. If I met those people face to face, we'd be very comfortable with each other, I'm certain.

There are other forums that are more local in their nature. If you're looking to meet up with folks, you should check out the links I believe some others sent you.

In the final analysis, this forum works great, just as it is. Splitting it into regional sections would ruin its international flavor, for me, and it would be the worse, for that.

You take issue with my post?...You may need to read the title of this thread and the original question then... I don’t take issue with other people’s opinions so carry on.

Yes, I take issue with your post. Disagreements are allowed, in here, as long as the character of a given poster is not impugned.

Stay classy, my friends.

Why would you want to be so restrictive in an international forum?

This is my window on the real USA, among other places, populated by real people.
Why would you want to prevent people from conversing with others in their area, just so you can have a window to the world? You still have plenty of people in the world window when people have the option to participate in both the local and world wide forum.
