It's a worldwide question at all levels from the desert nomads of Africa to the board directors of large business - are we caring for each other more and better or less and why?

IMO the anonymity of the internet has allowed us to strengthen and display many of our worst qualities.

It seems like we are willing to support the people within our social bubble or tribe at the expense of those that we see as outside that protected space.

Maybe that’s the way it has always been but it feels substantially more mean and hateful than I remember it to be in years past.

I prefer to rely on my own common sense and the skills in my hands than all the new fangled tech gismos.... erm, Alexa, make me a cup of tea. 😊

IMO nearly all companies display an abysmal lack of respect towards their customers.

Internet shopping services like Amazon will toss and ship an expensive fragile item in a vinyl bag.

Many big companies, health insurance for example use frustrating off shore call centers.

Doctors now have patient portals. It’s become impossible to speak with someone in the office.

Calling a government agency? “Your call is important to us. Please hold on. Wait time is approximately 20 minutes.”

Progress? Efficiency? Eliminating waste, fraud and abuse? I don’t think that any of this is beneficial.

I think we are the same basic humans , who lived many 100,000s of year ago., through to today. I think technology allowed more of the population to live more comfortably. We are definitely more educated than most populations in history. I don't think that makes us any smarter- maybe just more knowledgeable.
As our knowledge grows, so does the capacity to ease human problems. I think humans will continue to rely on more and more technology.
