Way back before "Black Friday" became a season, we actually enjoyed it for a few years as a kind of family thing. Used to spend Thanksgiving with a number of family groups all together in one place. It was a bit of a game to plan the shopping session from the ads and send folks off in different directions. The line holders would jump into the line as soon as we arrived at the store, etc. As folks got older and more spread out it just sort of faded away.
Personally, I don't mind the big crowds, it's kind of fun just being out in all of the hubbub. But, as I said, since it has become a whole season and not just a day, there's nothing special about it anymore.
