Last week here was -30 without the windchill with plenty of snow.
I’d need some time to think about it.

I wouldn't miss all those electronic gizmos, I could keep warm by layering my clothing and I'd eat over an open fire if necessary and burn candles or my oil lamps for light but one day or night in the middle of the summer without my air conditioner would really do me in..

Too many variables. In Siberia, middle of the winter, no food, clothing or shelter? Less than an hour. In Kauai, same scenario? Probably until the end of my natural life span.

I could survive but I hope I don't have to. I lived without running water, cooking and heating with wood stoves (but I can build an outdoor fire and cook on it), growing my own food (not meat though) and foraged for wild plants for food and medicinal purposes. I went six years without a refrigerator. I was younger so could do more stuff. I lived that way since 1999 till 2018. Now living like most people live, I am much happier and love my life here. Never looked back!
