Are you being phubbed?

Do people that you associate with, or your partner, spend a lot of time on their phone while with you? If so, you are being phubbed. Yes, this new word is basically saying that you are being snubbed while the other person is on the phone...

They wouldn't do it twice. I tend to sit with my tablet on my knee much of the time, at least until Elaine threatens to shove it where the sun don't shine when she gets sick of my not listening to what she has to say.

Father, while waiting in line at the supermarket I read in the National Enquirer, Star Magazine and The Sun that phubbing has developed into a worldwide epidemic and needs to be stopped......all three of the highly respected newspapers stated that the Phubber needs to be more considerate of the potential Phubbee.

Ahh, to phub or not to phub that is the question. For if I don't answer the phone I will be phubbing the caller...

When we go out to eat I notice that with others in the restaurant. It's usually two girlfriends, one quietly eating, the other texting or talking on the cell phone.

When they try it on me, all they'll see is my back, 'cause I'll be walking away.

People do this at work, ignoring their job. Administration doesn't seem to care much.

Now if someone is one their phone, everything is an "emergency"
