Are you feeling isolated?

I was feeling pretty bad about the restrictions and being confined.

I went on You Tube and there was an American who was a prisoner in Vietnam. He told his story which was over an hour long. I couldn't bear to hear it all but I put this in perspective.

Can you imagine six years in confinement not being able to move more than 100 yards and not being able to talk out loud or communicate with anyone. And the Vietnamese refused to follow the Geneva Convention. They said the United States did not declare war so you are criminals not prisoners of war. Conditions and torture were horrible.

This is a piece of cake.

it is weird have to say 'pop out to post something ' village like a ghost town ,
dont feel pend up really - but its all very eerie ' be wonderful to see a break through -

It's all very surreal, and the onset was sudden and unexpected. Current reality now reminds me of the setting of some dystopian fantasy novels that I've read; how fragile the web of society really is!

It's the lack of Spring sunshine that depresses us. Being retired we're used to going out for walks, working in the garden etc.. but the weather hasn't been good for either.

Of course we had to cancel our planned holiday and all the theatres, historic properties etc. are closed. Apart from that, day to day life is much the same - or it would be if the weather was better.

That's a great pity for you up there in Scotland because the weather here is fabulous and has been all weekend , and today is just glorious again, with beautiful blue skies...

I am so grateful for the company of my 2 loving cats! Took a trip yesterday to Petco to buy their favorite canned food, which was sold out everywhere else for weeks. I love it when they're happy!
A pic of me and my cats:
😻😍😻

You were going to post a picture of you and your cats but I didn't see anything. (??!???!!???)
Do you have cats, Gaer? I've got one...a long haired calico named "Gigi". In the morning she's raring to go...hey, just
make eye contact a certain way and she gallops off clear across the house waiting on you to bring a string and play with her.
Strings are her favorite toy.

I had an adorable registered Persian but when I lost her, (I'm still not over her death) it broke my heart! I have a huge dog but boy! DoI ever miss my kitty! I'm too old now, I believe, to have a cat. No one would ever take a cat after my death. So I look at the pictures on "Cattitude".

O.K. Pepper: I get it!

A big DITTO to the above!!! Not much has changed with us...

I don't feel like much has changed around me at all. Everyone is doing the social distancing, and I'm mindful of touching things when I am out, and getting mail, etc., but life for me is pretty much the same as always.

I suppose that one of the things that bothers me is the fact that the only role I can play is simply to wait, follow guidance, and "behave myself." During the other periods of adversity that I have encountered in my life there always seemed to be something that I personally could do. With this one, we are all totally dependent on the scientists and doctors to come up with a resolution.

Being a bit of an introvert, anyway, I thought I could handle this. I cannot. As was mentioned above, the lack of warm weather is hard, Here it is often still too cool to be outside for any great length of time.
I do feel bad for folks who are more extroverted, and social active. I think it is harder on them.

All this being said...the more we all stay in, the quicker this should end. Hopefully.

If it works and I'm confident that it will , it will be worth it.
I remember rationing and ration books during WWII. A lot of innovation. But we got through it. I was twelve when the war ended. One difference I see now is prayers then. We really don't have to stay in.
