Are you Motivated, lazy or Unmotivated

Probably... unmotivated....

Worked till I was 70. Substitute taught classes in a trade school for the first year after retirement. Then ran for a position on the Board of Directors at our golf course. Elected to a 3-year term which expired the end of 2020. Re-elected to another 3-year term. Took on a $400,000 building project at the course. For the last few months been meeting'd out with engineers, bankers, etc. Everything re the golf course is volunteer. Still up before 5 a.m. EVERY morning. If they will let us on the course have a 'geezer group' and we play. Had 238 18-hole rounds in 2020. Am going to try to beat that this year. New lawn that requires mowing every few days. Normal house keep up. So... probably 'unmotivated' since I waste too much time on the "Games" forum on this board!!!!! :>)

My biggest obstacle is getting rid of a complete machine shop in my backyard, a 52 year-old collection of toolmakers' tools, tons of other junk, and going through the hassle of selling my house. And doing all that alone
Yeah, that would be very hard.

I am unmotivated mostly because I don't feel very well. I used to like doing new and different things but that was when I wasn't battling fatigue every day. When I have a good day I try to catch up on things.

Doc says I seem energetic enough which minimizes what I'm telling her. Nobody wants to hear that you're tired. Why not join a group? It'll give you purpose, then you'll feel energized. Blah OK. I'm doing this to myself. Got it.
Same exact thing here.

I feel the same and am sorry you do too.

I'm super motivated, unbeatable, and unstoppable. That said. I do know when to take a rest or just a break if my body or mind needs one. 🤗

I am super motivated. I am busy 16 hours each day. Too many hobbies to mention. I do plenty of reading, walk outside each day, play and sing with my guitar, cook all my meals and clean up the dishes, plan trips, listen to music and right now I am converting some of my music from LPs to USB using my old record player and this computer. I try to limit my time on the computer and only watch 3 hours of old DVD TV shows in the evening. I guess I am richly blessed. No time to sit around and wonder when I'm going to die and certainly no time to be miserable as they try to show in Hollywood movies that us seniors are supposed to be. Actually, I'm a happy, go lucky country boy living in a small town. No crime, no pollution and I don't even know anyone getting at Covid-19 that the media is screaming about!

Motivated: To read, ride the motorcycle, learn new stuff, serve on a Board, make things, take and edit pictures, drive with the top down, cook & clean (to some limited extent), visit interesting places, etc. Also on the list is making new friends and acquaintances; however that is become more difficult as time goes on. There just aren't many people my age who're doing or interesting in what I am into or even knowing someone who does. LOL, when I show up at places, take my helmet off and show the aging face and grey hair (thankful to still have much of it), it seems to make people uncomfortable. I don't fit the mold.

Ed, Why is it I feel you are compiling all the answers to all your questions in all your threads, to publish. Am i right?
You are absolutely right; I am part of a secret society of youth.I am gathering data from this forum to inform young people how to live past 50.

Are you Motivated, lazy or Unmotivated
Thought I had posted in this thread, guess not, musta got lazy. Seriously though, I was going to start a thread on a similar topic(still will) but will comment here first.
Being retired I don't feel "under the gun" to cram as many "to do's" into each and every moment of the day. That said, In a post retirement business I spend most of Monday through Thursday tending to business, but I do have plenty of time left to attend to my personal home life.
Everything gets evaluated on a "need to" basis, if a matter isn't urgent then it doesn't get done right away.
So yea, anyway, I am at times motivated, lazy or unmotivated.

I don't feel guilty about being lazy, the older I get, the more it's okay, (but I'm older than most people here I think, and don't have any major goals left to fulfil). Some people I know feel the need to fill their days with various activities, but the thought just gives me a headache.
