Are you up on today's celebrities?

If you're like me, the celebrities I know are either in their 90s or passed. There's a couple I know, like Taylor Swift; the rest- I never heard of them. I couldn't tell if a pic was of a celebrity or the guy at the meat counter.
Do you just have to have the latest National Inquirer to see what celebs are doing?
Are you up on today's celebrities?

Celebrities make my humdrum pathetic life livable. I check their views before I vote to make sure I am voting properly. Then I fork over my hard earned dollars to them so they can continue to own multiple huge houses, fancy private jets, and yachts while they lecture me on my wasteful habits such as not recycling banana peels into compost.

Ricky Gervais nailed it. Since he is a celebrity, he must be right.

No I don't know who most of them are At work in the tv studious.. we all had to have pictures of the celebrities if we were doing a light entertainment show, beccause none of knew who anyone was....

So cameras.. sound.. lighting , researchers, VT editors, stage managers, floor manager, etc would all have to have pictures with their names written on them so we knew who was who...even with groups..like Boyzone..or Girls Aloud.. Bee-Gees, and so on..... we'd have to have their names and pictures individually on our desks , cameras...or Booms so that when cameras or sound had to zoom in on one or more indvidual in a band, we had to know our Willie Nelson from Kris ktistofferson..for example..and the same on a chat show if the host has all the guests on the sofa at the same time as some of them do... the crew had to know who was who...

I remember the celebs of the 30's - 40's- 50's - 60's much better than the 80's - 2025.
A lot of Entertainment went to long winding chase scenes instead of fun and drama.
007 and b&w nighttime horseback chase scenes in westerns ruined / started it all downhill.
So much verbal dribble / baloney now on TV.

John Wick did bring some of it back though. Outlander, Hell on Wheels.

I know older celebrities but if I read TMZ or the Daily Mail I've never heard of most them under 50. Now a days one can become an online celebrity/influencer. Or a podcaster. Too many ways to become famous.. Most can't do it off a single trade like singing or acting.

Before buying your own personal jet became the rage in Hollywood, a lot of ā€œcelebritiesā€ flew on my planes, especially in both directions from LA to NYC. The few that I was able to speak with seemed nice, friendly and enjoyed our short conversation. I did, however, meet two that I wouldn’t ever speak to again.

Today, I don’t follow anyone out of Hollywood and don’t really care about what’s going on in their life. I hear names, but they mean nothing to me. They (Hollywood celebrities) mostly live in their own little world. My wife and I probably donate more money to charities than at least 50% of them do. My wife came from a very wealthy family, so when she retired from her job, she went into Philanthropy.

I like the older celebrities of the past, many of which have passed away. People like Red Skelton, Bob Hope, Lucille Ball and many others were real people who didn’t mind shaking a hand or giving an autograph if seen in a restaurant.
