Aren't there time of day restrictions for telemarketers and would they apply to texts?

If it bothers you, just turn off your phone during those hours. Itâs easier to change things âyouâ do than try and change âeveryoneâ around you.

I just ignore calls from numbers I don't recognize, and let it go to "Voice mail ". If the caller is a spammer, they don't usually leave a message. My Rogers phone system often marks incoming calls from outside of my 416 area code as "possible spam " on my I phone display. JIM.
Ignoring the calls is easy but the texts are actually more dangerous because if you accidently click on their link that could corrupt the phone. I'm getting a lot of- This is the post office only 2 days left to get your package click here.

Me too Jim. If I donât know who the caller is, I donât answer it. It seems to work cause I NEVER get calls that I donât want.

When I read the text heading , and its obviously related to some thing I never do, like banking with a US bank, or a message from the Canadian Revenue Agency, I delete it without opening it. I have a CRA business tax account, so they can contact me using that email address.

I put a call blocker on our home phone about 3 years ago, and have blocked hundreds of numbers. f we don't recognize the number, we let it ring, and almost never do the scammers leave a message. Occasionally, I look up the number and 99% of the time, it is a number that is not in service.
As for "texting" we have a cell phone that we carry when away from the house....just in case we have an emergency, or one of the kids needs to talk. We never "text", and I probably nave enough minutes built up to talk for days....needless to say, we are Not cell phone Addicts.

No, the gov't does not put time limits on scammer calls and texts.
Most scammers are in a different time zone from yours. In fact, a lot of them work during their night so they can scam you during your day, but I agree, they aren't good at the calculations.
I do answer their phone calls, but I just keep saying hello in a robotic voice, and then disconnect the call, which brings up an option to either save or block their number....and, of course, I block it.
I get that option with texts from unknown numbers as well, so the word "block" is the only thing I need to click on. I don't have to touch anything in the content of the text.

The government has a "Do Not Call Registry" that I signed up for almost 20 years ago. The spammers are supposed to be prohibited from calling a registered number. What a joke....just another government agency that consumes taxpayer money with little or no results.
