Armor for old geezers

I don't like that some parts are a bit fragile.

I wear house shoes always when at home and steel toed shoes when out.

At the gym I wear vibration gloves while lifting as knuckle pain was preventing workouts. The gloves look like rock man from Marvel.

Recently I had a spot in between the knuckles bleed and I think it was just after opening a grocery seal tight bag. I think dry skin just cracked. So I'm on the lookout for washable gloves for daytime use, that can also handle hands that have been moistureized or covered with pain cream.

Yesterday the side of one knuckle really hurt. Saw arthritis gloves advertised today.

I’ve started getting large Solar Pupura or Senile Pupura bruises similar to that pictured.

Last week I had a large one that covered the back of my hand and was caused by simply slipping my hand into my front jean pocket.

They are fairly harmless but unsightly.

The good news is that old age has helped to improve my vocabulary and led me down aisles in the drugstore and at Walmart that I never knew existed. 😉🤭😂

@Aunt Bea, ask your doc about taking Biotin.

I had an issue with my strands of hair getting so thin they snapped with the slightest touch. My research led to Biotin. It worked. Later I found out it also helps our skin not be so thin and vulnerable to those bruises. The tearing by simple brushing against something also stopped.

A male friend a few years younger than me was whining about those patches. I had suggested Biotin to him a year or so ago. I brought it up again. He finally decided to try it and now he's finding he's not tearing his skin or getting the bruising.

I get those constantly, makes me nuts! 🤐

I have seen these purple splotches on older men’s arms, but never knew what caused them.
  1. Someone told me that as we age, our skin gets thinner and bruises easier. Is that right?
  2. The other reason I heard is that older men that take a blood thinner gets them. Is that right?

Yes, skin gets thinner from natural aging.

When individuals use a blood-thinner medication (such as after heart surgery) it can also happen (regardless of gender)

So, both 1 & 2 cause the purplish marks?
