We're sending an unmanned rocket to the moon as a test mission for the manned missions. The next one will be manned, but they will not land on the moon. They'll just go and have a look around from up above and then come back. But the one after that will be the one where they actually go down to the surface of the moon! Man has not set foot on the moon in some 50 years, so this is kind of exciting. I believe SpaceX is building the lunar module that descends to the surface. I think Lockheed Martin is building the rocket.

I know a lot of people aren't interested in this mission and call it a waste of money, but as long as NASA doesn't screw the pooch (actually, it will be the contractors that are responsible for everything going as planned), it will be an event to be celebrated. We need something positive right now, with all the crap going on.

So here's to you, Artemis! (y)
