Arthritis in my wrists remedy....

Believe it or not, all the hand washing I'm doing, even tho not leaving the house at all, has brought my arthritis wrist and hand pain to a halt!
I'm in awe of this....haven't used my Aspercreme with Lidocaine in weeks....just realized this a few days ago, thank the stars! The exercising of these areas is proof that movement of the painful joints does work.....anyone else experience this? And I never have done the exercising tips I've read about....I just dont remember to do them.

That is good news PopsnTuff, pass it around to
anybody that you know with the same affliction,
no matter where they have it.

Mike.

That's good news Pops.. long may it continue.(y)

I have OA in my fingers, but they don't hurt when it's hot weather, so although I've been washing my hands a ton of times a day, the fact it's been really warm here for the last 6 weeks or so..I haven't noticed whether it's the continual hand-washing which has kept it at bay or just the natural heat of spring..

I have OA in wrists and knees. My wrists only hurt if I move them a certain way. Using my hands more (like washing) doesn't seem to make a difference - its not really bad. I do take glucosamine and chondroitine and recently Turmeric and they seem to help. I walk an hour everyday and that helps the knees.

Another thing that helps is just running your hands and wrists under hot water (as hot as you can stand it) while gently rubbing them for about 30 seconds greatly reduced my pain over the winter months....did this maybe twice a day.....even shared with my fam how pleased I was in discovering this....using a heating pad in those areas would be so awkward as a substitute.

Probably both Holly....also just stretching your fingers out and in has helped me also and keeps nerve spasms in my left hand away....thats a weird thing I get....my whole hand curls up into a ball, so painful and scary, and I have no control over it till it ceases about a minute later.

Those three products taken together Iris has made a big difference in reducing pain for lots of folks....back in the day I worked for two different health food stores and the feedback from these products was very good....they get a little pricey but its worth it.

i use these jelly exercise balls..they're about the size of an egg, and I have a 3 pack , and they vary in resistance , so you can start by just using the softest one squeezing you in your palm, for a few minutes each day...

Do they make a difference in lowering your pain level Holly?
yes they do in winter or when it's high humidity with rain, and my fingers are swollen and painful... I find that by just using the weakest one for a few minutes a day helps a lot....however I'm just thinking they might be quite painful to use on someone with painful wrists...

That is strange. Theory #1: Heavy exposure to warm water and aggressive hand movement (washing)? Theory #2: I have no idea.
The warmth and exercise makes a difference in pain levels all over the body and maybe switching to ice packs every hour or more....I know this all too well from many sessions of physical therapy over the years.....
some things work for some folks and for others it doesnt even put a dent in the pain, go figure....

Glucosamine; everyday, keeps my arthritic fingers totally pain free. If I miss even one day, I feel it.

I eat lots of turmeric, everyday, as well. It, and granulated garlic, are my two, main, go-to spices.

Turmeric capsules that my Dad took, at my urging, after getting a prostate cancer diagnosis, left his urologist scratching his head, six months later, and wondering where the cancer had gone; absolutely no lie. He told my Dad: "I don't know what you're doing, but just keep doing it!"

Read up on turmeric, online. It's pretty amazing stuff.

I've been having pain inbetween my fingers on one hand and I doubled up on my Apple cider vinegar and it seems to have gone away. Usually I take one tablespoon in the morning with a big glass of water. Now one in the moring and one at night.
