The article has results from a study of the effectiveness of various methods used across 56 countries. It also analyzed the economic impact of the various methods as well as their effectiveness. The article appears to have some of the information reported in an article I posted earlier about the infection model that had been developed.

Not sure if this is the right post for the following info but .........

MPs will be voting for a tier virus assessment i.e the higher the tier the more restrictions. If you are in Tier 2 you may meet in a pub, numbers restricted, and all safety measures in place etc. But in order to have an alcoholic drink one must have a substantial meal:

Vaccine roll out 'guru' Nadhim Zahawi has suggested that a vaccine certificate may be necessary to enter a pub, restaurant or cinema and yet:

huh.gifIf only it wasn't so serious.

I think shops need to be given more precise instructions on how to protect their customers. I have been into town this morning and came home having bought just one item. I went into several shops but quickly walked out again because social distancing was impossible. The shops are so jam-packed with goods that customers are forced to cram up against each other.
Another thing I noticed is the number of adults wearing masks, who had babies in pushchairs completely exposed. I know babies and little children cannot be expected to tolerate having a mask over their faces, but it's perfectly possible to put a plastic windshield over the pram. This would surely give some protection.

I thought the UK approved vaccines. Wouldn't you expect virus numbers start to decreasing by January?
Not sure @StarSong. As far as I understand we only have the Pfizer vaccine (not all vaccines 'passed' at this point in time), so it depends on how and when the vaccine can be rolled out.
So, wearing masks and social distance will be still be a must for the time being ,but I think that people have thought that because we have a vaccine we are now out of the woods and can do what they want. Hope that makes some kind of sense. I still find it vey confusing.

I got where you were going with this. Thanks
