Giving this diary thing another chance so that when I have something to say, I don't need to always start a new thread. Sitting here this morning thinking about the year that I've been here at SF. It's been a fun year with getting to know lots of really cool people... thank you all for that. 💗

As for the "not so cool"... well after 366 days of being here, I'm very close to using my ignore button for the very first time. When a member becomes so "trollish" that I cringe when I see they've answered a thread I've been active on, it's time to give myself some peace. When I can tell that no matter what topic is being discussed, the responder will be argumentative with other posts, I lose interest in even sharing my thoughts. It gets tiring. Never wanted to have to do that, but I *am* very glad it's just an online connection and I don't have to live IRL with that kind of individual. 😿

Often an old thread pops to the top again and I see all those people I used to enjoy hearing from and who are now "missing." Hoping they'll pop in again at some point. Sometimes a PM will be answered and the silence explained... when there's not a PM response, it's sad for me. Yeah, I know I can be over-emotional, but it's real, and it's me. Anyhow, happy day-after-Christmas, everyone! 🤗

Reflecting right now about how years keep going faster. We just had the turn of the century to see in that "scary ol' year 2000" and here we are 24 years later. I remember my grandparents and then parents saying how each year goes faster and faster... and my kid mind and later teenage mind couldn't possibly comprehend how that could be true. And here I stand.

My father used to say, "Time flies are there are no brakes." At times I wonder if he meant breaks?
The ignore button is a wonderful feature to restore balance to your enjoyment of the forum, don't feel bad about using it.
I'm thinking your father was wise enough to know that *both* apply... no breaks, no brakes. And thank you for the words about the ignore... knowing me I'd probably end up feeling guilty for doing it.

I posted without saying anything... not sure how that happened. In any case, I hope you'll be able to find your niche here and remain one of us, @dilettante .
Thanks Kate. I don't get voted off the island without a fight, and I'm not slinking off either that's fer danged sure, I tell you what!

How was my "Hank Hill" there? I hope I didn't sprain my narrow urethra.
