Aside from stepping up and getting on the soup bowl

is anybody here living in a climate where it's really fall and cooking "cold weather" food and baking wintery treats? It's so hot and dry here that as much as I'd like to be eating hearty meals and baking yummy stuff with apples, I just can't do it. And...there's no relief in sight. 90s. No rain. Sigh.

I read this morning that there was yesterday and still is today a raging blizzard out West and was (almost) jealous. Pinto beans and cornbread. Pot roast. Pork chops with dressing and apples. Hot fudge pudding cake. Apple crisp.

Eating light is nice and probably a whole lot better for us than cold weather food, but I'm tired of it.

Remind me of this next spring when I whine about spring waiting too long to get here.

I'm in CT and it's in the low 70's. Beautiful, but by Friday; high 60's. Today I made a pot of chicken stew with dumplings. I don't bake, love to make soups, stews and casseroles. I know what you mean.

We are having Fall weather here in NorCal yesterday and today,so I jumped on it and bought a couple of little Sugar Pie pumpkins. Going to make Coconut Pumpkin Curry Soup tonight. The cooler weather is only supposed to last a few days, so by Wednesday,we`ll be grilling again.

Mid 60's here and a lot of rain and wind the last couple of days, so I've been making hearty hot meals this week for the freezer... I had minced beef , with onions carrots, gravy, mash and veggies a couple of days ago for dinner ..and baked potatoes with butter & cheese another day

Tonight I had hot smoked haddock and broccoli !

Still in the 80's here in Virginia but cool 60's at nite....I'm not waiting for the cooler days to cook soup GX...already made lentil-vegetable with pasta, chicken noodle with veggies and next will be onion soup with the croutons and cheese floating on top, yummy....oh, and turning the air conditioning up pretending its autumn weather out there, lol....

We are still having some pretty warm days in New Jersey but last week pot roasts were on sale in my supermarket. I bought one and popped it in the freezer. The first brisk fall day we have I'll put it in my slow cooker and serve with mashed potatoes, gravy and some red cabbage. Can't wait.

Still warm here but supposed to have a cold front next week. Be so glad if we do. I am ready to make a big pot of veggie, beef soup and freeze in containers for cooler weather.

In the effing mid to high 90s, seems like forever, here in Austin. I really wish Janet would retire now, instead of next year, so we could leave the Hell this city has truly become.

It has been cool here that last few days but tomorrow is supposed to hit 30 (86) but it is going to feel like 38 (100) and I am cooking light stuff right now and use the toaster oven so the house doesn't get too warm. Right now I can't stop eating Jamaican patties.

It is getting cooler here, especially the nights.
The leaves are beginning to change colours and most of us
are getting our gardens ready for winter.
It is the time of year when I like to make soups, tomato sauce,
and heartier meals. Tomorrow I am going to make potato
and leek soup. I certainly have more energy now that it is
cooler out.
