Asked "What Is Your Annual Income?"

Just got off line after answering a chain fast food survey and they asked for my annual income. Don't you just love it when asked that by total strangers??!! Our personal privacy has long been deceased.

I've been ask what my income was both in person and on the phone, by people that have no business knowing, and I always reply with, "things are pretty tight and I'm just barely getting by".......normally they'll get that "oh I'm sorry for asking" look on their faces or in their tone of voice and quickly change the subject.

My bank keeps sending me a request for my annual income so that they "can custom design offers and information for me". Uh, no. It's not like they can't just see what gets deposited into my account monthly. That's my income.

Since I stopped working I have not been able to put a number on my annual income.

Every year I try to figure my income about six different ways and the numbers never match up.

So far I've always had enough and I hope that trend continues.
