Aspartame and other fake sugars can be used as an ant killer.

That seems to be an urban legend:

Yes however I used it as ant killer and it worked. We used to get them every year and I’d use ant be gone. One year I used aspartame and it worked BETTER than Ant be Gone.

This article says ants won’t eat aspartame and that’s it’s poisonous to them but if there’s nothing else, they do eat it.
