AT&T-Time Warner Raises Anti-Trust Issues

This is a perfect example of the ideal relationship between a free market economy and the government. It is the government's job to see that the free market is, indeed, free by stopping the removal of competition.

The FTC or Federal Trade Commission blew it with the first Comcast "merger" with NBC Universal. These cable companies should not be allowed to the sell the service and the shows. Too big too fail or uncompetitive take your pick.

Ironically the old AT&T/Ma Bell was broken up 30 years ago(which everyone seems to forget) in which AT&T was stopped from selling service and equipment. They didn't even let them sell local service, only long distance. The old AT&T was a company that got too big to fail and was successfully broken up. Except they are rebuilding with the end game being the same.

One of the concerns with the media company mergers are privacy issues because the technology they tracks a customer habits.

Also AT&T caught collecting then selling or giving customer information to government agencies.

I can't remember the name of the software but I think it was AT&T that gave their marketing software to some Common Core testing companies to track students.
