ATT copper feed phases out

We're still on copper line feed here for internet. Got a call today from ATT saying copper is phasing out and offering cut over to fiber optic. They've been pestering me to do this for many months/years now-via email and snail mail.

It was inevitable. Kept putting it off until now. Bit the bullet and agreed to a cut over next Monday. Terminal box is already buried in the back yard. Our property sits astride a utility easement. Should be a no-brainer. More cabling run in the attic. It's like a spiders web up there already. Oh, well.

Copper feed for me has always been dead reliable. Throw-back to the 1960s I guess. Hopefully, fingers crossed, this cut over goes seamlessly. If not, Sharon will kill me. She has a book launch for her latest novel scheduled to the 29th. Had I known. . .failure to communicate. On me. My bad. Of course, that won't help if this goes south. Guilty.

Bill goes down $3 a month and we get a $50 gift card. No install or modem charges. A dream come true. But then, lurking in the back of my head is, "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. . . "

Anyway, FYI for those out there still on wire feed. Cheers. Arnold

Yeah, back of my mind. Why I held off for so long. Skeptical how this will play out.

I've opted in and opted out on several occasions before. Having second thoughts already. Options are limited regarding an internet feed. Comcast has a FO feed through my neighbors back yard other side of privacy fence as well. Dunno bout that either. Feeling like the stuckee right now.

We just had our cables layed a few weeks ago although it's not up and running yet. Our underground wiring for the phone is very old and I had them do a service call quite a few times. If the price is reasonable, I'll switch.
