Hey..That Guy..Thought you might be interested in this, just in case you haven't seen it yet.

How in the heck do you measure the height of a wave anyway? Maybe you would share with us your biggest ride and where...Where is your favorite place to surf?

Thanks for thinking of me, Ozarkgal. Yeah, that happened a while ago. That spot is very dangerous . . . obviously . . . but not just for the monster waves but the location with cliff and rocks. He said he promised his wife he wouldn't do it . . .

Generally, you can guesstimate the size of a wave by considering the height of the rider compared to the face of the wave. Now, by Hawaiian standards, the wave is measured from the back which is much smaller than the face and misleading when somebody says it's six feet . . .

As for the biggest wave I've ever ridden . . . allow me to refer you to the "Lies" thread... There I was....! I can tell you with complete honesty I do recall, while dropping into some large waves, thinking for a split second, "That's a long way down to the bottom!" But, no time to dwell on that as it's always GO! Do or die as it were...

My favorite place to surf? You know I can't tell you that. Let's just call it the ever popular Secret Spot.
