Author Sue Grafton has passed away

I went to hear her give a lecture when she came to town in the 1990s.

Sue Grafton, the mystery writer who penned best-selling novels with alphabet-based titles, starting with "A Is for Alibi" and ending with "Y Is for Yesterday," has died, her daughter, Jamie Clark, said Friday in a social media post. She was 77.

Sad to hear. wondering what her "Z" title would have been?.....

"Y IS FOR… is slated for publication in the fall of 2017 with Z IS FOR ZERO following in the fall of 2019. Many of you are asking (some quite plaintively) what I intend to do when I get to ‘the end’ of the alphabet. I’ve been consistent in my response which is “no clue.” I want to see what kind of shape I’m in mentally and physically. I don’t want to keep on writing if the juice is gone". Sue G.
 
I read that she had not yet started her Z book, and since she was very much against having a ghost writer for her books, her family said "This alphabet stops with Y
 

I am saddened by the loss of such a great author who's books have kept me reading. We will never know what Z would be.
