Auto Insurance for car

Hi there,

I had promised my father that one day I will gift him a new car. Recently, I fulfilled my promise. And I feel very happy about it and so my father. We have planned to insure the car.

My father is above 60. He is a senior citizen. I had seen in one magazine that there are auto insurance companies that offer discounts to senior citizens. Is that true? Is it possible to get a reduction in insurance costs?

Also, I would like to know opinions about a company offering auto insurance services in Oshawa. It is suggested by one of my friends. Had anyone tried their services? Please share your experiences.

Thanks!

Yes many have senior discounts...Stay away from the cheap AARP auto insurance, I fell for it and the second year the rate almost doubled!!

I have Farmers and every time I get mad that they raised my rates and check out other (reliable) insurance companies, they're usually the lowest and I shut up. Call a few for rates and check out their reviews online.

I've had State Farm ever since I first started driving....about 60 years ago. We've had one claim...my wife got clipped in a store parking lot, about 20 years ago, and our agent coordinated the repairs with the other persons insurance company. I much prefer dealing with an agent, in person, rather than phone calls if we ever need a claim. Every now and then, I request quotes from other insurance companies, and all that does is fill my e-mail with messages, and phone calls claiming to save me money....however, I've never received a quote that is more than a few dollar/yr. less, and then, there is no agent to deal with, in person.

Your first post. Zero introduction. You act like you’ve never heard of auto insurance before. You post an insurance company’s website. Hum, do you work for them?
