Avocados recalled in 6 states over listeria concerns...

California-grown avocados sold in bulk to retail stores in six states by the Henry Avocado Corporation are being recalled due to potential contamination with the bacterium listeria monocytogenes, the company announced on Saturday.

"Henry Avocado is issuing this voluntary recall out of an abundance of caution due to positive test results on environmental samples taken during a routine government inspection at its California packing facility," reads the company's statement. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the recall at this time.
The recalled products included California-grown conventional and organic avocados. They were packed at Henry Avacado's facility in California and distributed to six states: Arizona, California, Florida, New Hampshire, North Carolina and Wisconsin. Henry Avocado, a family owned and managed company, started packing in this facility in late January 2019 and every shipment is subject to the recall.

(Never liked this fruit but wish I did....very healthy for us if its not tainted) :)

Thanks, but I have my own producing Haas tree in my side yard, fully loaded and healthy. Have as many

as I want or need.
Way to go F....glad to hear its still producing for ya' :)....I have my handy Grabber to help me out 'in' the house...

When I lived in Escondido (San Diego county), my next door neighbor had a wonderful Avocado tree and didn't didn't like the fruit. They told me to pick and use all I wanted, which I did. They sold their home and the new owner cut that wonderful tree down. What a waste.

I saw that yesterday. I'd just had avocado toast for breakfast and I had to dig through the trash to find the sticker. :eeew:

Thankfully, mine was a different brand and was from Mexico.

Thank you! I must share this with my son. He eats a lot of avocados and started me on them but I don't eat nearly as many as he does. He's recently gotten into organic avocados too. I will share this with him even though we're in Jersey, he's a trucker who goes up to New England sometimes. Just want to make him aware in case he stops at a store up there to get avocados.

Glad to hear everyone that posted is safe from the recall companies and do pass on the news like OED is doing with her son :pride:

Do not eat them since I bought some at Krogers a few months ago. Ate one and was up all night sick as I could be. My daughter brought dinner over for my birthday last year and it included an avocado salad. Told her to add it to her dinner as I never want to see another one again.
