I would never have my baby monitor hooked up to the internet! Nobody in my family ever used baby monitors, but in our day the ones only with the audio were used, no video. They're a good idea when baby's in another room asleep, you can hear if all is well with the breathing and everything. We bought one when my father in law had a major stroke and we moved him into our home. He was half paralyzed and couldn't speak, and we were sleeping in the basement. Good way to make sure things were okay with him, and he didn't need help. But you're right Davey, a lot of mothers nowadays are glued to their devices, and seem to ignore the real world around them. I remember hearing of a mother who left a baby in the bathtub, and went to check something on her facebook....well, she got so involved and was on the computer so long, that the baby drowned due to her neglect (and selfishness).
