Bad milk or not

I get half-pints of milk with a senior meal. I wanted to have some on my cereal this morning. I have 3 cartons in the fridge, the oldest had an expiration dat of July 29th. I opened it and smelled it and it seemed okay, but when I poured it out, it had globs in it. I opened the next one that was dated Aug 1. That, also, was clotted. These cartons of milk smelled okay and I tasted it and it was fine. So what could cause milk to clump up like that but not be sour?

Maybe the casein - which is the protein in cow's milk. According to what I read while researching nutrition for weight loss, casein is thick & gooey & designed to help a baby cow develop huge strong bones & gain 1,000 lbs in a few months. Maybe that batch of milk had more of it.

It used to be believed that thunderstorms caused milk to sour. Don't know if it's true or where the idea came from, but what you describe, debodum is like 'curds and whey'. The curds are skimmed off and are used to make cottage cheese.

Yummy, curds and shredded wheat! LOL. To me it seemed more like yogurt, but didn't have the sourness that yougurt does.

Maybe because thunderstorms occur mainly in warm, humid weather and that is the REAL cause of sour milk.

I get the plain bite-sized biscuits. If you leave them in the milk until most is absorbed, they soften up nicely - at least to my liking. I remember my mom used to pour boiling water on the biscuits (back when they only had the large pillows), let them soak, then pour the water off and then pour on milk. I always thought that made the milk watery.

When I used to drink milk I'd throw it out when it had clots in it...just seemed gross to me. I drink Almond Milk now and Flaxmilk, too, when I go shopping at the store that carries it.
