Bad news for Rappers

Last weekend I reported the sad news that Elton John has lost his voice while performing in a concert in New Zealand. Today I learned that a rapper, named Pop Smoke. (not a joke, he really called himself POP SMOKE), was shot in Los Angeles. I don't know much about rap music but it seems to be a dangerous musical outlet. Every few months a rapper is shot by someone or a rapper shots another rapper. Who ever heard that the conductor of the Boston Pops would ever think of flying over seas & shooting the conductor of the London Symphony; for example. Or take the old days, Marty Robbins doing a flyby shooting of Johnny Cash. It just never happened. Today we seem to live in more dangerous times or is it that rap music & trouble seem to work together? Who knows? https://www.cbc.ca/news/entertainment/la-pop-smoke-shooting-1.5468711

My son produced and performed in a rap group when he was in his early 20's. He had performed. He recorded and released a single with another group...can't remember the sequence now. The writing was really good and the songs are still relevant today. They wrote positive rap. Both groups did performances in N.J. and were well received but a record deal didn't happen because record companies were more interested in "Gangsta rap". You have the east coast, west coast rivalry. Who shot Tupac? Who shot Biggie? All this killing in the Rap world is a damned ridiculous shame.
