Bad Quality Food Going Around - Supermarkets, Restaurants.

I assume it is related to shortages of resources, manpower.

But I have been having far too many of these instances recently.

On top of that, it's probably also related to being in compliance with trade agreements during war time.

There was "plenty" of food, maybe lots more than previously, between wwI and wwII in the usa, but people got sicker, more and more during that time. The doctors did not know why until the end of wwII when they finished their investigation/studies. They published the results in a now totally censored infamous not=politically=corrext "white paper" /official gov publication/
showing the great increase in illness
that resulted in lowering the admission health requirement for inmatxxx..../ armed forces drafted quotas
in order to have enough men to fill the requirements of the military.
You might think that AFTER this was published and made available to all, public and private, citizens and medical,
that the foods/items/ that caused illness increase so dramatically would be stopped.

Nope. Greed, Money, Power, Corporations, Bribed Gov Officials and others,
caused then and continue to cause the problem to get worse every year since wwI thru today.

The problem foods vastly increased their advertising on the new development - television commercials - and succeeded in selling bad quality, illness causing foods and drinks to most of the country.

This is an interesting thread .... I was beginning to think that something was wrong with me.

One example .... my last purchase at the grocery store was a jar of Vlasic Dill Pickle Slices, something that I've bought many times in the past.

I bit into one slice - ugh! couldn't chew it! ... threw it away , took another one - same hard skin... what the heck?
Finally threw the whole jar away! ... and paying more for stuff like this is added madness..

Good quality, healthy food and drink is very difficult to find in the usa, groceries or restaurants. A lot of "made to look good" stuff, but UGH, ugh! like you said, many very noticeable problems over the last year or two, increasingly bad. No future plan or hope in the works for better so far as seen anywhere publicly/ politically/ medically/ financially.

I can't find good bacon in any restaurant.. It's tough and either bad tasting of just plain tasteless.

Well, sure, there are individual examples. I am thinking more of across the board.

There is a new bacon product...at least new to me. I bought it in a regular grocery store.

Oscar Meyer Ready Cooked Bacon.

here's one link:

https://www.acmemarkets.com/shop/pr...BB05Eu3mmBXIoAMLHZQaAjUoEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

It's on the shelf!

Doesn't require refrigeration! Not sure how they do that...maybe cooked and vaccuum packed???

Cooked it up myself.

Wasn't bad.

I mean not gourmet or close to it...but as good as, oh, you know, bacon that you would normally get in a diner...

On a similar topic, what is this new fad for “uncured” meat products like hot dogs, cold cuts etc? I bought some “ uncured” hot dogs of a good brand, fresh use by date, and they just didn’t taste right., I’m staying away from that label till I know what’s it all about.

I posted a thread about grocery shelves having items past their expiration dates. Things are not back to normal yet.
