Banana pudding.

All this talk about bananas got me to thinking.

I haven't had or even thought about it for quite awhile but I can remember when I was a pup if my mother made banana pudding on a Sunday for desert to me it was a really a big deal.

Mama makes an absolutely killer banana pudding using my mom's old recipe which looks to be pretty close to the same as the one on the back of a box of Nabisco vanilla wafers.

Y'all think if I'm a good little boy the rest of the week that I can sweet talk mama into making me one this weekend ?

If that doesn't work try this!

Take a bowl and add a crushed graham cracker, a sliced banana, a vanilla pudding cup and a squirt of whipped cream from a can.

Sorry Mama, it only makes one serving.

I still make the old fashioned kind where you cook the custard yourself etc. My daughter makes the kind with the instant pudding and cool whip which is okay but I prefer the home made with real meringue on top. Its just one of those things like homemade coconut cream pie which take some time but well worth it!!!

I guess I'm just nuts for bananas because I made banana pudding last month, it's something I hadn't made in years. I made it the newer way without cooking it, I was too lazy to do it the better old fashion way, still it tasted pretty good.
