A Boston Red Sox baseball player was hit by a ball thrown by a New York Yankee fan in NY. Ball hit the player in the back. Personally a criminal assault along with crap fan behavior.

I love watching sports. But no matter how fervent a fan one is, there is NO excuse for physical attacks or hate speech (vis-a-vis the current instances with Formula 1 racing and European soccer).

It's nice the Yanks apologized for what one of their fans did, but jeez m'neez, there's so much apologizing in BB anymore it's kind of stomach-turning.

I've seen some mean things at ballparks in my lifetime. Some nasty fans dump beer on the opposing team's out fielder, and throw all sorts of stuff on the field. A couple of guys even attempted to burn the American flag on the field but one of the players ran over and grabbed the flag. I was at Yankee Stadium one night when the Toronto Blue Jays were visiting. I don't know what started this issue, but just before the Canadian National Anthem was to be played, the announcer asked the fans to refrain from booing it. No such luck, it was shameful and we were furious with the bunch who did this. They all should have been tossed from the stadium.
