The legendary Beach Boys mastermind and singer Brian Wilson is reportedly suffering from dementia.

Two representatives for the 81-year-old performer — who is one of the most acclaimed songwriters of the 20th century — and his family have said in a court filing that Wilson is suffering from a 'major neurocognitive disorder (such as dementia),' according to documents obtained Thursday by The Blast.

In the filing, the hitmaker's team requests that a conservatorship be set up for the legendary musician to help treat the alleged condition.

The news of Wilson's condition comes after he suffered a tragedy late last month when his longtime wife Melinda died at age 77.

Beach Boys' Brian Wilson, 81, 'suffering from dementia'

IMO...families only announce something like Dementia when it's quite far advanced...

I think our first clue was when he released 'I Wish They All Could Be Cauliflower Girls'.

He's been diagnosed with schizophrenia for years now.

so you think dementia is funny...something to mock ?...:oops:
Everything is on the table. I don't pick on any one person. I mock everyone equally. :)

And my 87 year old mother has dementia...I visit her most every day in a full-time elderly care facility.

...so.... you think that gives you the right to mock people with mental health issues..?.. grow up!!

I myself have schizophrenia fcs!...the same disorder that Brian Wilson has. Stop getting enraged for other people.
I certainly wont... people who are mocked by people like you...for having mental heath issues..need other people to get enraged on their behalf... and the fact that you have mental health problems yourself, means you should know that more than anybody! Disgraceful !

Did you read that part where I said I have schizophrenia and my mother has dementia? I'd rather have a ghoulish laugh than wallow in my own misery. I'm a fighter...I've always used music and humor to combat my illness...my two bullets against this beast of an affliction. I'm sorry you fail to grasp this.

(And you look cute when you're angry.) ;)

I really like this guy. Years back, they performed in Hershey. I was fortunate enough to be on duty at the arena that night and was able to speak with some of the men in the band. Brian is a really funny guy, even though maybe you wouldn’t think so. He tells some great stories.

I like the story he tells about how he arranged the music for “Sloop John B.” He told me that Al Jardine insisted that they record the song and he wanted Brian Wilson to arrange it. At first, Wilson didn’t want to use the song, but he thought, “What the hell, I will arrange it anyhow.”

When they cut it in the studio and played it back, he thought much differently. Here is the promo of the song.
